Deacon uses what he has and tries to make each part of the bike something to look at. For example; if you look at a piece of hardware on the bike and instead of your eyes going over it you look at it and wonder: “What’s that made out of?” You will find pennies for washers, a shifter knob from his high school machine shop that was made for a V/W but adapted for the tank shift. He didn’t want a gate shifter on it. He wanted a ratchet top so he made a loupe holder for the shifter so you don’t have to select the gear you just hit the shifter and it selects the gear through the ratchet top.
