Deacon maintains the profile of a bike is the most important thing to get right. He thought about it for a long time and had a picture in his mind of how it should look. He also wanted a real mechanical presence to it, nothing hidden; you can see all the wires and cables, nuts and bolts. Most of the brackets on the bike are hand made, and they’re made to be seen. Someone once told Deacon his builds were outstanding because they showed off the pure mechanical aspects of the bike; that someone was Indian Larry. Deacon mentioned a couple of times that the bike was sort of a salute to Indian Larry because he liked the matter-of-fact nature of Deacon’s bikes.
